About Me
My Background
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Spanish. Upon completing my undergraduate degree I relocated to Madrid, Spain where I taught for 2 years in a bilingual secondary school before returning to the United States to attend graduate school where I earned my MBA (Master's of Business Administration) at The Master’s University. I have a wide range of interests and experience that I bring to the table as a language instructor. I use some of the techniques I learned in chess to engage my students. It is beneficial for me to understand their goals so that each session we are working towards them while advancing each week. I strive to provide beyond what is available in a typical classroom environment.

I have worked with students to help them prepare for IELTS, TOEFL, and all Cambridge exams (PET, KET, First, and Advanced) preparation for those that are interested in preparing for these specialized exams. For these exams, I have a set curriculum that I like to follow for IELTS, TOEFL and all Cambridge Exams to aide the student in thorough preparation that they need.
After the first week I like to get them familiar with how the exams are set up and then we study each section in detail one at a time until they feel comfortable with the types of questions found in that section by using real sample tests. I want the student to feel confident with the whole exam while going at their own pace so that they feel like they are making some progress.
Teaching Techniques
I have over 5 years of teaching students in ESL and also in Spanish and I worked directly with different students outside of class time to help with whatever assistance they need with grammar, pronunciation, oral comprehension, reading, writing, and listening. I adapt my lessons to the students' needs in whatever they need help with, but I also try to focus on important skills that are necessary to become proficient in English or Spanish. I use various techniques to engage the student by using grammar worksheets, games, listening exercises, and role-plays with the teacher. I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible. Whatever your language goals may be I would love to help you reach them.
